Canada Day Weekend

Hello everyone! Well another week has passed and more adventures have been survived.

Last week was pretty uneventful. We had one student in a wheelchair which provided some interesting challenges, especially in classes like dance and golf. Luckily he was really content to sit and watch. But it makes us wonder what they will spring on us next.

Friday night was really low key this weekend, just went for pizza and then played board games until the wee hours.
Saturday afternoon went shopping with Hannad and Shaun. Found a really amazing outdoor market that I will be spending a lot more time in if I have my way. Miles and miles of shops all crowded in. Too bad it's getting to the pre-payday pinch so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Also found--I think I'm in heaven-- a store that only sells Converse merchandise. I have dreamed of such a place all my life. I can forsee an entire suitcase of variously coloured and decorated high-tops by then end of my year here.
Saturday night we went to our favourite all you can eat all you can drink buffet. And since it was the eve of Canada Day we did many soju shots in honour of our fair country. Not to mention singing the national anthem in both English and French. It was a good time. We went to a noraebang afterward, of course. It was super fun with so many people. Lots of off-key singing as per usual.
Canada Day we spent most of it recovering from the night before, but managed to get together in the evening to watch the latest two episodes of Canadian Idol, drink some Tim Horton's coffee and play cards. What could be more Canadian. We also managed to get our hands on some red and white face paint and tied down our English friends and painted them in the spirit of the day.

It wasn't a very exciting week and weekend compared to some we've had, but fun nonetheless. And last night we had a real taste of the rainy season. Was sitting in my room reading when a thunder storm blew in. Amazing lighting flashing across the sky. Then all of a sudden sheets of rain came smashing down. So naturally England Shaun and I ran up to the roof to enjoy it. (I know, not the smartest of things, going on a roof in a thunder storm, but we made sure the lighting was far away first.) It was so much fun though. Splashing and dancing in the rain. We were soaked in minutes. Luckily it was the middle of the night so no one could see us.

Not too much else to report. Working Saturdays for the next two weeks, but I think we're going to an amusement park on Sunday and then in two weeks is the mud festival and after that the rock festival. Really looking forward to both of those.

Rain drops keep fallin on my head, but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red. :)
